Cognizant rallies 250k staff for world’s largest AI vibe coding event

Cognizant is making a move to expand artificial intelligence capabilities across its entire organization. This ambitious week-long event brings together a vast number of employees, from human resources to engineering, aiming to spark new ideas and create AI-powered solutions. The company is even aiming for a world record, showcasing the remarkable scale of this initiative.

Cognizant recently initiated a significant global effort, uniting over 2.5 lakh employees spanning departments like HR, sales, engineering, and marketing. This intensive week-long program aimed to cultivate groundbreaking ideas and construct practical artificial intelligence tools. The company also confirmed its bid for a Guinness World Records title, recognizing the sheer scale of this pioneering endeavor.

Ravi Kumar S, Cognizant’s CEO, expressed great excitement for this distinctive event, emphasizing its goal of enhancing AI comprehension for all staff, irrespective of their technical background. He highlighted that modern technology is now accessible to individuals without needing extensive digital expertise, bridging previous divides. This widespread accessibility, he added, is unlocking fresh value within the workplace, encouraging innovation across various professional roles.

To assist the diverse technical skills of over 3.3 lakh employees, Cognizant partnered with prominent “vibe coding” platforms such as Lovable, Windsurf, Cursor, Gemini Code Assist, and GitHub Copilot. Employees selected their preferred platform during registration based on their skill level.

Furthermore, the company swiftly developed its own internal online hub within a month before the event, offering quick access to registration, learning materials, tutorials, and project submission facilities.

A spokesperson for Cognizant clarified that “vibe coding” is rapidly emerging as a critical facilitator in the AI journey, enabling everyone to build, troubleshoot, and innovate with AI, even without prior coding experience.

Ravi Kumar S further elaborated in a podcast with Lovable CEO Anton Oskia, expressing his conviction that anyone, not exclusively software engineers, should be able to create software using everyday language.

Kumar conveyed a firm belief that making technology widely available can substantially increase overall output, foreseeing greater productivity for the software development community through this leveling.
